Now, MasterCard International is planning a nationwide Memorable Moments baseball promotion, courtesy of a Cincinnati native and Reds fan.
What's great about this program is that everybody has their own personal moments ... they remember as a kid or as an adult, said Bob Cramer, 1987 Turpin High School graduate.
Mr. Cramer is MasterCard International's vice president of global sponsorships and event marketing and in charge of Major League Baseball's Memorable Moments promotion.
Starting July 9 at the All-Star game, baseball fans can vote on the sport's most memorable moment through ballots found either in stadiums or on the Web at www.mlb.com. The 30 choices on the ballot were compiled by baseball journalists, historians and scholars.
Also, consumers using their MasterCard card July 9 to Sept. 20 will automatically be entered to win a trip to Game 4 of the World Series.
Mr. Cramer wouldn't reveal what Cincinnati moments would appear on the ballot, but listed a few of his Reds memorable moments growing up in Anderson Township, such as Reds' World Series victories in 1975 against the Boston Red Sox and 1976 against the Yankees.
I've been a Reds fan ever since, he said. Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench all had great moments provided to me as a kid growing up in Cincinnati.
The moment with the most votes will be revealed at the World Series.
