KSU may hire an interim chief
The Associated Press
FRANKFORT Kentucky State University regents will likely hire an interim replacement for ousted President George Reid for a longer period than might be expected.
Regents chairman Bill Wilson said Thursday an interim president would be hired for at least six months and perhaps up to a year.
Because we want to let a little healing take place on campus, Mr. Wilson said.
Mr. Wilson said he has already received inquiries from prospective executives, including many with outstanding academic credentials. Mr. Wilson said he was concerned that the turmoil that accompanied Mr. Reid's departure would make it difficult to hire someone immediately.
I feel very encouraged, Mr. Wilson said.
The executive committee of the regents is scheduled to meet today to discuss the hiring of an interim president.
