Pot's location: Fountain Square. Soon it will move to Fifth Street, between Vine and Walnut (in front of the Westin Hotel).

Artist: Cooki Thier of Anderson Township, who says “the best paint is one-shot painter's enamel.”

Explanation: “Age of Aquarius” inspired a natural connection to “Age of Asparagus.” I had in mind a '60s hippie theme with butterflies and a "flower child.' I hoped they would plant asparagus ferns in the pot. This is one of three pots that I have painted.”

Who planted it: Julie Weinel, horticulture manager for the Cincinnati Horticultural Society. Of course, asparagus ferns (Asparagus meyersii) are in the pot, along with plumbago “Escapade White,” lantana “Pink Caprice (both heat-loving plants) and lysimachia nummularia, a great creeping plant with round golden-yellow leaves.

        Sponsor: The Alleen Co.

Artist-decorated and professionally planted flower pots and planters, part of “Cincinnati Blooms,” will be in downtown Cincinnati, Newport and Covington through September. Information at Cincinnati.Com.
