Conservation sites to be identified

$3,000 Miller grant provides funding

By Randy McNutt rmcnutt@enquirer.com
The Cincinnati Enquirer

OXFORD — A $3,000 grant from Miller Brewing Co. Foundation will help the Three Valley Conservation Trust identify potential sites for conservation in Southwest Ohio.

The group plans to conduct an inventory of conservation opportunities, potential land preservation sites and water quality protection needs along Four Mile and Seven Mile creeks and several side branches.

“The gift from Miller...is a part of a strategy to diversify funding sources to sustain the organization,” trust chairwoman Liz Woedl said Thursday. “This will help us to effectively monitor and increases the number of conservation sites in our three valleys.”

The project will also provide a portion of money needed to identify properties with high conservation value and help landowners with stream quality improvements, spokesman Larry Frimerman said.

The non-profit land trust group of more than 350 members conserves the natural environment and farm heritage in Four Mile, Seven Mile Twin and Indian Creek valleys in Butler and Preble counties.
