Pizza maker accused of illegal 'toppings'

LEBANON Ordering special seasonings at Chubby's Pizza in South Lebanon assured customers more than a traditional cheese-laden pie, authorities said Tuesday.
You order a pizza or a hoagy with certain words and you get dope, Warren County Task Force Commander John Burke said Tuesday.
Following an undercover investigation that spanned more than six months, the task force arrested long-time store employee David Kilpatrick late Monday on three charges of trafficking in marijuana.
Mr. Burke said Mr. Kilpatrick, 39, of West Chester Township in Butler County, was targeted for investigation after police received numerous citizen complaints of drug trafficking from the establishment. It is one of only a few places to eat in this small village, one that often caters to common-pleas juries in Warren County.
Callers told police the marijuana was being sold inside of hoagy bags to customers who mentioned that they wanted special seasonings for their pizzas, Mr. Burke said.
The charges allege that Mr. Kilpatrick sold the pot to undercover agents on three occasions. Mr. Kilpatrick was out of jail Tuesday after posting bail.
Chubby's owner, Dennis Hoff, said he hopes the arrest doesn't reflect badly on his business. Mr. Kilpatrick is his cousin and had worked at the business for 17 years, sometimes managing it when Mr. Hoff was away, the owner said.
This has nothing to do with Chubby's Pizza, Mr. Hoff said. ... It was just a private thing he was doing, and we weren't aware of it.
