Title: Potcasso
Pot's location: Fountain Square
Artist: Joe Carr of Price Hill, whose usual media are acrylic, charcoal, digital whatever makes a mark.
Explanation: Inspired by Pablo Picasso, the pot was an interpreted study of the late artist's stylings. The work contains a self-portrait and a portrait of my wife, Kym, and a few of our more eccentric neighbors in a garden setting reflecting the natural and applied beauty of Price Hill's Incline District. Painting was completed in three sessions, totaling 28 hours.
Who planted it: Julie Weinel, horticulture manager for the Cincinnati Horticultural Society. She used million bells Terra Cotta, carex Gold Fountains and lantana. It's a cheerful mix of yellow flowers and foliage great selections for this fun pot.
Sponsor: Cincinnati Art Gallery.
