Summer crafts festivals are danger zones for those prone to Guilty Shopper Conscience plenty of booths to crash and burn any budget.
But the juried show at Berea, Ky., next weekend will soothe any conscience. Twenty percent of Friday's admission will go to the Kentucky Breast Cancer Coalition. And this year, each of the 125 artists participating in the show was asked to donate proceeds from the sale of one piece to the cause.
Each of the artist's donated pieces will be displayed in the artist's booth throughout the festival, designated by a special sign.

One of the first to answer the call was Darlene Hellard, cornhusk dollmaker from McKee, Ky., who told of a crafts shopper she met three years ago in Tennessee looking for a cornhusk angel to watch over her because she'd just been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Ms. Hellard took her aside and shared experiences she'd gone through when her mother had breast cancer, and they became fast friends. As a tribute to her friend and the recovery of her mother, Ms. Hellard has created a cornhusk angel with a Bible, dove and pink ribbon depicting breast cancer awareness.
