E-mail violations found at KSP post
By The Associated Press
ASHLAND, Ky. - Two current and two former employees of the Kentucky State Police's Ashland Post, including the post's recently retired commander, misused the agency's electronic mail system, an internal investigation has concluded.
The four sent and received inappropriate material of a sexual nature via the state police e-mail system in violation of the agency's regulations, according to documents obtained by The Daily Independent of Ashland.
Copies of the reports were obtained by the newspaper through the state's Open Records Law.
Capt. John Lambert, the recently retired post commander, and Trooper Gary Kistner, a former public information officer, weren't punished because both retired before the investigation finished.
Sgt. Alvin K. Taylor was suspended for two days without pay, and dispatcher Trudie Sinnott received a letter of reprimand.
