Deerfield delays meeting on ATP
LEBANON Deerfield Township officials delayed Tuesday's planned meeting with the Warren County commissioners to discuss how to keep the ATP Tennis Center in town.
Trustees want to hold off on meeting with county and Mason officials until after they decide their position on Tennis Masters officials' request for help buying their tournament site, township Administrator Greg Horwedel said.
The newly renamed Western & Southern Financial Masters, long run by Paul and Bruce Flory, could lose its lease on the Mason site in 2005 if they can't scrape together $16.5 million to buy it from the American Financial Group.

Man sought in rape of teenager
Cincinnati police are developing a sketch of a man believed to have raped a teenager in Walnut Hills early Tuesday.
The 17-year-old, who lives on Luray Street, told investigators the man came in through a window and forced her to have sex with him twice, threatening her with a knife. He then stole some items from the house before he left, police said.
Officers responded at 4:20 a.m. to the call.
The girl described the man as African-American, about 20 years old, 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds, with a shaved head or close-cut hair, big eyes and a round face. She said he was wearing all-black clothing.
U-Haul commute leads to theft charge
LEBANON A Paramount's Kings Island employee's unusual mode of transportation resulted in her arrest on theft charges.
Lois English, 47 , of Loveland was indicted Monday on a charge of receiving stolen property: a U-Haul truck that a co-worker noticed she had been driving to and from work each day for a month, Warren County Prosecutor Tim Oliver said.
When Mason police investigated, they discovered that Ms. English had paid to rent the vehicle for a single day in California for local use only, but apparently kept it for a year and brought it to Ohio, Mr. Oliver said.
Mr. Oliver didn't know what type of job Ms. English held at Kings Island; park spokesman Jeff Siebert could not immediately be reached.
According to a Mason police report, Ms. English was arrested at the park on June 7.
Police had been called on a report of a stolen vehicle in the employee parking lot; officers checked its registration and confirmed that the truck had been reported stolen, according to officials.
Ms. English originally told police her daughter's father was paying the bill on it, the report says, but that she later said she had rented it in Santa Monica, Calif., and then stole it.
Five hurt in fire at Hamilton home
HAMILTON Three children and two adults were treated for smoke inhalation after fire at their home Tuesday morning in the1400 block of Parrish Ave.
The Crain family Patricia and Earl Jr., both 23; and their children, Austin, 2; Bradley, 7; and Miranda, 5 were taken to Fort Hamilton Hospital, where all except Austin were treated and released. Austin was transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where he was in fair condition Tuesday evening.
A passerby used a cell phone to report the fire at the two-story wood-frame dwelling about 6:25 a.m., saying residents were screaming for help, police said. Mr. Crain handed Austin out a first-floor window to police Officer Brian Wynn, who was first to arrive on the scene.
When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting from a window and a doorway on the front of the building. Fire crews helped the family escape through a south window, said Lt. Brian Ruhl,Hamilton fire department spokesman.
Its cause remained under investigation Tuesday evening. Damage was estimated at $20,000.

Man arrested in attack on builder
A construction worker was beaten last week in Over-the-Rhine and suffered a broken nose, according to police.
Eldon Sumberg, 52, of Hyde Park, on Thursday was pushed to the ground near 14th and Walnut streets, according to a police report. The attackers, which witnesses said numbered up to 20, then punched and kicked Mr. Sumberg on his face and head, police said.
Mr. Sumberg was taken to University Hospital, where he was treated for the broken nose and multiple cuts.
Police later arrested Robert Siler, 22, and charged him with felonious assault in the attack.
Friends of Mr. Sumberg said the attack happened after Mr. Sumberg and another worker chased a group of teens who they said stole a hammer. The men are rehabbing a building at 15th and Walnut streets.
