U.S.-Scotland soccer game set for Columbus

The U.S. women's soccer team will play Scotland in an exhibition game Sept. 8 in Columbus.

The game will be the United States' first after the WUSA season. The Americans are preparing for the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, the championship of North and Central America and the Caribbean, scheduled for Oct. 27-Nov. 9.

The Gold Cup serves as qualifying for next year's Women's World Cup, where the U.S. team hopes to repeat as champion.
