Bunning to speak at chamber forum
Kentucky U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning is scheduled to speak Aug. 9 at the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce's Government Forum.
The forum will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Club on the 19th floor of the RiverCenter office tower in Covington. The cost is $30 for chamber members, $60 for non-members. For more information or to make reservations call 578-8800, extension 355.
Henry to address Kenton Dems
Lt. Gov. Steve Henry, a probable candidate for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination in 2003, is scheduled to speak at the Aug. 12 meeting of the Kenton County Democratic Club. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Walt's Hitching Post in Fort Wright with Mr. Henry scheduled to speak at 7:15.

Guidugli family picnic Aug. 17
The annual Guidugli family picnic has been set for Aug. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cold Spring home of Dave Guidugli, a former Cold Spring council member and local labor leader.
Expected to attend the event, which has grown from a family picnic to a large political gathering, is Gov. Paul Patton and other Democratic and leaders.
Other members of the family are Campbell County Property Value Administrator Mariann Guidugli, Kentucky Court of Appeals Justice Dan Guidugli and Newport Mayor Tom Guidugli.
The picnic will be at 57 Darlas Drive in Cold Spring.
Stricker plans two fund-raisers
Covington City Commission candidate Jerry Stricker has scheduled two campaign fund-raisers.
The first will be Aug. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Down Under Bar & Grill on Park Place in Covington. The event will be hosted by Fort Mitchell lawyer Lanny Holbrook. Suggested donation is $100.The second will be at Mr. Stricker's Covington condominium, 201 Riverside Drive, overlooking the Ohio River. The fund-raiser will be in conjunction with the Labor Day fireworks display on the river.
The event will be from 6 to 10 p.m. and will cost $100 a person. Drinks and dinner will be provided.
