Youth sports


        • The Cincinnati Heat, a 12-and-under fast-pitch softball team finished 10th in the 74-team NSA Div. A Eastern World Series, capping a 48-15 season.

        • The Cincinnati Royals 12-and-under boys basketball team finished ninth in the 114-team AAU Championships in Virginia Beach, Va., the week of July 12-19, clinching an automatic bid for next year's 13-and-under tournament in Memphis, Tenn.

        • The Midland Warriors 13-and-under baseball team (6-1) won the CABA World Series at Triple Creek Park July 30. The Warriors (4-0) also won the NSA World Series on July 20.

        • Morganroth Baseball (13-year-olds) finished seventh in the CABA Ultimate Tournament on Aug. 1 in Tulsa.
