        OU freshman makes dean's list: International business major Stefanie Hensler was named to the dean's list all quarters of her freshman year at Ohio University. She was also inducted into Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business fraternity.

        Ms. Hensler is the daughter of Gayle and Ken Hensler of Fairfield.

        Army graduate: Ryan Beer graduated with honors from Army basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

        He is an Anderson High School graduate and the son of Linda and Rick Breeden of Anderson Township.

        Scholarship: National Merit Scholarship finalist Elliott Wood has accepted a President's Scholarship to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology.

        The graduate of Princeton High School is the son of Terri Jones and John Wood of Glendale.

        Associate's degree: Kelley Alderson earned an associate's degree in commercial arts from Antonelli College. She will pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of Cincinnati.

        Ms. Alderson graduated from Milford High School. She is the daughter of Terri and Frank Alderson of Miami Township, Clermont County.

        Honors society: Inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, which recognizes first- and second-year undergraduates who excel academically, were:

        Talia Stinson, of Madisonville, attending the University of Pennsylvania; Nicole Ebbing, of Roselawn, attending the University of Cincinnati; Arica Wunder, of Bethel, attending Ohio State University; Laura Lim, of Colerain Township, attending Miami University; and Ashley Lindemuth, of Mason, attending the University of Cincinnati.

        Dean's list: Jonathan Weekley was named to both the fall and spring quarter dean's list at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg.

        A member of the engineering honors program, he gained early acceptance into the mechanical engineering program and has accepted membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

        The Turpin High School graduate is the son of Sally and Jeffrey Weekley of Anderson Township.
