Congrats
JETS places 4th: The Mariemont High School JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Society/Tests of Engineering Aptitude Mathematics and Science) placed fourth nationally among the 165 teams that competed in their division. Team members were:
Juniors Yurko Kavecansky, Justin Hendricks, Karen Olson, Danny Maggard, Peter Schuster, Jon Witte, Emily Resnik and Meggie Safford.
The team was coached by Ken Clark.
Dean's list: Elementary education major Kristina Ashton was named to the first semester dean's list and the second semester president's list at Miami University.
Ms. Ashton, who is a Fairfield High School graduate, is the daughter of Lucille and Steve Ashton of Fairfield.
OSU graduate: Sachin Patel has graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering from Ohio State University.
While at OSU, he was enrolled in the engineering honors program and won numerous awards.
After interning at the Microsoft Corp. in Seattle for two summers, he is now employed as a Microsoft software developer.
Mr. Patel, who graduated from Lakota West High School, is the son of Chiman and Shobha Patel of West Chester Township.

Felicia Diamond, graduate of Lakota West High School; Melissa Vordem-Thoren, graduate of Lakota West High School and daughter of Frances and Richard Vordem-Thoren of West Chester Township; William Brown, graduate of Mount Healthy High School and son of Kim Cotton of Springfield Township; Gregory Bennett, graduate of Sycamore High School and son of Murielle Bennett of Montgomery; Jason Bailey, a Princeton High School graduate and son of Vickie and Todd Bailey of Sharonville; Joseph Wesselman, graduate of Princeton High School and son of Pam and Dennis Wesselman of Sharonville; Charles Edwards, graduate of Cincinnati Country Day School and son of Kim Cotton of Springfield Township; and Chris McGrath, graduate of Princeton High School and son of Sherry and Jeff McGrath of Sharonville.
