Cincinnati woman leads police on chase

FRANKLIN - A 37-year-old Cincinnati woman led Warren County authorities on a car chase Saturday morning after officers tried to question her about a convenience store robbery.

Police received a call at 4:15 a.m. that a Dairy Mart on East Second Street in Franklin was being robbed.

Officers responding to the call saw someone driving away and attempted to stop the car.

The driver refused and tried to outrun the police.

The car sped through Franklin before getting onto Interstate 75. During the pursuit, one Franklin Police car and one Ohio State Highway Patrol car were damaged.

The chased ended at the 22-mile marker when the car went off the side of the road. There were no injuries.

The driver was identified as Teryn Danean Jackson, 37, of Cincinnati. Mrs. Jackson is charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, theft, felony fleeing, and numerous other traffic offenses.

She is confined at the Warren County Detention Center, with bond set at $27,250.

Two passengers in the car were arrested. Eugene Emanual Lee, 36, of Cincinnati and Donna Marie Mosley, 44, of Cincinnati were each being held in lieu of a $1,000 bond.

Both are charged with complicity to theft.

Police seek man in bank robbery

Cincinnati Police continued to search Saturday for a man who stole an undisclosed amount of money Friday from a downtown PNC Bank branch on West Fourth Street.

Investigators said a stocky white man entered the bank shortly before noon, showed the teller a note and demanded money. He threatened to have a gun, although one was not seen.

The man 1/2ndash 3/4 who is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds 1/2ndash 3/4 was last seen walking east on Fourth Street, toward the Vine Street intersection.

He has light brown hair and had a beard and mustache. He was wearing a cream-colored baseball cap, which had a dark blue bill; a multicolor, vertically striped dress shirt and baggy blue jeans.

Anonymous tippers can call the Cincinnati Police Department's criminal investigation section, 352-3542, or Crime Stoppers, 352-3040.

Woman injured in accident on I-75

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - A Cheviot woman was injured Saturday afternoon after a car she was driving was clipped by a tractor-trailer, spun off Interstate 75 and rolled into trees near the Galbraith Road exit.

The driver, Teri Hayes, 29, of Cheviot, is in stable condition at University Hospital. Ms. Hayes was traveling south on I-75 when a tractor-trailer driven by Fred Cline, 30, of Salesville, Ohio, clipped the back of her car while he switched lanes, said Arlington Heights Police Officer Matt Merkle.

Mr. Cline, who was not injured, was cited for an improper lane change, Mr. Merkle said. Ms. Hayes, whose driver's license had been suspended, was cited for driving without a valid license, he said.

The accident occurred at about 3:10 p.m. and slowed southbound traffic until 4 p.m., when all lanes reopened.

Motorcycle accident under investigation

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP- Hamilton County Sheriff's Office on Saturday continued to investigate a Friday collision that left the driver of a motorcycle critically injured.

At 4:08 p.m. Friday, Ruth Mounce, 51, of Groesbeck was driving her car south in the 4300 block of Colerain Avenue when it collided with a northbound motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, Gail Drake, 43, of Northside, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital, where she is in critical condition. Mrs. Mounce was treated at the scene.

At the time of the accident, Ms. Drake was wearing a helmet, and Mrs. Mounce was wearing a seat belt, police said.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor, police said.

Fire damages home in Lower Price Hill

A one-alarm fire caused $40,000 in damage Friday to a single-family home in the 1400 block of Bowman Avenue of Lower Price Hill.

Cincinnati District Fire Chief Steve Kluesner said flames began at about 5 a.m. in the rear of the home and quickly engulfed the first and second floors.

Smoke alarms alerted the family members, whose names have not been released. They were treated at the scene for minor injuries and smoke inhalation, Chief Kluesner said.

About 30 firefighters responded. While a cause has not been determined, fire inspectors do not suspect foul play.

        An investigation continues.
