Motorcyclist killed after striking two cars

INDEPENDENCE - A 39-year-old Independence man was killed Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle crossed the center line on Fowler Creek Road, just north of Pelly Road, and struck two cars, Kenton County police said.

Terry Blades was going north on Fowler Creek on a Honda cycle when he apparently crossed over and hit a Honda CRV, then struck a Jeep Cherokee, authorities said.

Mr. Blades, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Jason Pettit, the 27-year-old Florence man driving the Jeep, and an infant passenger were treated at St. Elizabeth South for minor injuries and released, police said. A third passenger was uninjured.

Suzanne Smith, the 21-year-old Independence woman driving the Honda CRV, and her three passengers were not injured.
