N. Ky. builders name election endorsements
FORT MITCHELL The Political Housing Club of Northern Kentucky, the political action committee of the Home Builders Association of Northern Kentucky, has announced its endorsements for the Nov. 5 election.
Candidates endorsed, and the offices they are seeking, were:
Gary Moore, Boone County judge executive.
Terri Moore, Boone County commissioner.
Ken Rechtin, Campbell County commissioner.
Bill Verst, Campbell County commissioner.
Dick Murgatroyd, Kenton County judge-executive.
Dan Humpert, Kenton County commissioner.
Barb Black, Kenton County commissioner.
Adam Koenig, Kenton County commissioner.
Diane Whalen, Florence mayor.
Chris Moriconi, Independence mayor.
Paul Marcotte, 60th District state representative.
GOP's Robertson leaves N. Kentucky
Hayes Robertson, a GOP political consultant and a member of the Kenton County Republican Executive Committee, has left Northern Kentucky and moved to south Florida.
Mr. Robertson worked as a volunteer and paid consultant for a number of GOP candidates, including Kentucky U.S. Sens. Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning, state Sen. Dick Roeding, congressional candidates Rick Robinson and Don Bell, Kenton County Jailer Terry Carl, Kenton County PVA candidate Steve Kramer and Kenton County Attorney candidate Eric Deters.
Mr. Robertson was also an alternate delegate to the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia.
I have enjoyed my seven years in Northern Kentucky, Mr. Robertson said in his letter of resignation to Kenton County GOP Chairman Greg Shumate and other executive committee members.
Marcotte named to security working group
State Rep. Paul Marcotte, R-Union, has been named to the newly organized Homeland Security Working Group of the American Legislative Council, the nation's largest individual membership organization of state legislators.
The Homeland Security Working Group was formed to enable the organization to propose public policy solutions that achieve homeland defense objectives while minimizing the threat to civil liberties, Michael Flynn, the organization's director of legislation and policy, said in a statement announcing Mr. Marcotte's appointment.
Adam Koenig plans campaign fund-raiser
Kenton County Commissioner Adam Koenig, a Villa Hills Republican, will hold a campaign fund-raiser Sept. 5 from 69 p.m. at the home of Fort Mitchell City Councilman Michael Plummer and his wife, Kimberly.
The suggested donation is $50 a person. Damon Thayer, vice chairman of the Kentucky Republican Party, will be the guest speaker. For information call (859) 578-9258.
Mr. Koenig is seeking his second term in November.
He is challenged by Democrat Mike Baker.
