Mother charged after car nearly hits child
A Westwood mother was arrested and charged with endangering children Saturday after authorities say her 3-year-old, mentally handicapped child was found wandering unattended in an apartment complex parking lot and almost struck by a vehicle.
Keanna Pankey, 24, is being held at the Hamilton
County Justice Center and is scheduled to appear in court today.
Ms. Pankey is accused of leaving her child with a 13-year-old who lives in the same complex, Silvercliff Apartments, on McHenry Avenue.
Passersby discovered the toddler wandering alone in the parking lot, according to Ms. Pankey's arrest report. Witnesses told police the child was almost struck by a vehicle.
