Sorenstam wins Compaq Open

HELSINGBORG, Sweden Swedish star Annika Sorenstam won her eighth title of the season, shooting a 2-under 70 for a four-stroke victory in the Compaq Open.
Sorenstam, playing in Sweden for the first time in two years, had a 17-under 271 to become the first three-time winner of the event. Also the 1997 and '98 winner, Sorenstam has six victories this year on the LPGA Tour and also won the Australian Masters.
Sweden's Sophie Gustafson (66) finished second.
Canadian Women's Open
VAUDREUIL-DORION, Quebec Meg Mallon, taking advantage of Catriona Matthew's triple bogey on the 12th hole, shot a 1-over 73 to win the windswept Canadian Women's Open.
It marked the 10th time Mallon has come from behind in the final round to win. She finished at 4-under 284 and earned $180,000 for her 14th career victory.
Matthew, who began the day with a one-shot lead over Mallon, was unable to recover from a disastrous 12th hole, even though Mallon gave her the opportunity with three bogeys on her final six holes. Matthew, from Scotland, shot a 79 to tie for second at 1 under with Michele Redman (72) and Australia's Michelle Ellis (74).
North West of Ireland Open
BALLYLIFFIN, Ireland Sweden's Adam Mednick won his first PGA European Tour title, shooting a 4-under 68 for a five-stroke victory in the North West of Ireland Open.
The 35-year-old Mednick was one of 29 players who completed their suspended third round early Sunday. He played the final five holes of the third round in 3 under and finished with a 69.
Mednick had a 7-under 281 total. Scotland's Andrew Coltart (67) and Italy's Costantino Rocca (72) tied for second.
Wichita Open
WICHITA, Kan. Tyler Williamson won the Wichita Open for his first Buy.com Tour title, closing with a 4-under 66 for a one-stroke victory over Jeff Klauk and Koeke Cotner.
The 30-year-old Williamson made a 5-foot par putt on the final hole to finish at 8-under 272 on the Crestview Country Club course. He earned $76,500. Klauk shot a 65, and Cotner had a 68.
