All three southeastern Indiana riverboat casinos posted increased gaming revenue in July, combining to win more than $53 million.

It was the last monthly results reflecting gaming “cruises” before dockside gaming, which started Aug.1 and is expected to substantially increase revenues.

Belterra Casino & Resort posted the biggest gain, with a “win” of $10.4 million, 14 percent more than July 2001.

Belterra, the Switzerland County boat that faces a three-day shutdown in October and a $2.3 million fine to settle charges that it provided prostitutes for guests, hosted 251,160 visits, according to numbers released Tuesday by the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg posted gaming revenue, or a “win,” of $31 million, about $1 million more than last year. It had 662,082 visits. The month featured a Montgomery restaurateur and his manager hitting a $239,042 jackpot at a $25 slot machine July 26.

Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun posted revenue of $11.8 million, just slightly ahead of last year, on 232,219 visits.
