16 arrested in prostitution sting
HAMILTON - Police arrested 16 johns Friday as part of a prostitution sting along East Avenue, said Sgt. Carl Simon of the Hamilton Police Department.
A female undercover officer, posing as a prostitute, helped make the arrests.
Fifteen were charged with solicitation and one was arrested for obstructing official business. During the arrests, police discovered a handgun and machete in two of the johns' cars.
Police said the johns were offering to pay up to $70 for sexual acts.
Friday's sting was the fifth this summer.
