Riverfest: The Third Federal Riverfest and Toyota/WEBN Fireworks celebration includes a day full of live music and family activities all over the riverbanks in downtown Cincinnati, Newport and Covington starting at noon today. Last blast of summer launches at 9:05 p.m. 749-3764.

TV picks: Kaboom! The annual Riverfest Fireworks fill the airwaves at 9 p.m., midway through Chanel 12's two-hour live telecast in high definition TV (8-10 p.m.).
TV Critic John Kiesewetter also says Saturday Night Fever airs twice to raise funds for film preservation (8 p.m. and 10:10 p.m., American Movie Classics).
VCR alert: Fans of Fox's 24 should set the VCR for midnight, when FX begins repeating all 24 episodes in a Labor Day marathon.
