MU graduate earns cum laude honors

        Caroline Hern, of Milford, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in education from Miami University.

        She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society and the Golden Key International Honor Society.

        Ms. Hern is the daughter of Martha Hern, formerly of Hamilton, and John Hern of Hillsboro.

        Art teacher best: Gloria Brinkman of Price Hill, an art teacher at Summit Country Day Upper School, was selected to get an award from the Ohio Art Education Association.

        Nominated by her colleagues in the Southwest Ohio Region, she will get the Ohio Outstanding Art Teacher Award at the annual convention in November.

        Teachers are tops: Cindy Gajus and Team 7-1, and Christi Ryan and Team 8-4, from Nagel Middle School, were awarded the Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Educator Award for 2002 presented by the Southwest Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center.

        Choir superior: The Mason Middle School Destiny Girls Choir earned a superior rating at the Ohio Music Educators Association District 13 Large Group Festival.

        The Destiny Choir is the first from the school to attend the event, achieving the highest rating in their first year.

        5 make dean's list: The following have been named to the spring quarter dean's list at the University of Cincinnati:

        Courtney Wolstoncroft, a freshman in the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences. The Milford High School graduate is the daughter of Yvonne and Rod Wolstoncroft of Milford.

        Ed Paff Jr., a senior in the College of Engineering. The Archbishop Moeller High School graduate is the son of Claire and Ed Paff of Loveland.

        Matt Stockum, a freshman in the College of Engineering. The Fairfield High School graduate is the son of Debbie and Rick Stockum of Fairfield.

        Eric Eifrig, of Anderson Township, a second-year law student in the College of Law.

        Thea Martini, an electrical engineering major. The Taylor High School graduate is the daughter of Marsha and Patrick Martini of Miami Heights.
