Eight people injured in two shootings
One person was shot and four were injured in a shooting Sunday in South Fairmount that came on the heels of another shooting in Cincinnati earlier Sunday that left three injured.
The 10:30 p.m. shooting occurred on Denham Street near Seegar, according to Cincinnati Police dispatcher. One person was killed at the scene, two others were hit in the abdomen, one was shot in the shoulder and another in the ankle, police said.
No other details were available late Sunday. All the injured were taken to University Hospital, but their identities and conditions were not released.
About 4 a.m. Sunday, three Mount Auburn men were shot while in the West End but their injuries were not life-threatening, police said. The men were attacked near Linn Street and Central Parkway, but they refused to tell officers what led to the shooting or who was responsible, police said.
Injured were: Ronnie Engelman, 32, shot in the left thigh; Elon Engelman, 26, shot in the left hip; and Stephen Peake, 22, struck in his chin and left elbow, police said. They also were being treated Sunday at University Hospital, but their conditions were not available.
