Arby's to tee it up for charity
Restaurant Management Inc., owners and operators of Arby's Restaurants in Greater Cincinnati, will host its Arby's Charity Tour, (ACT) Sept. 20-25.
ACT is a series of events designed to increase awareness and generate funding for Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati.
The Arby's Charity Tour focuses our efforts and maximizes fund raising to help educate consumers about the value of and need for the type of youth programs that the Boys & Girls Clubs offer, said Grant Troja, president of Restaurant Management Inc.
ACT will be a series of golf tournaments and special events throughout the United States, starting in Cincinnati.
The golf tournament will be 11 a.m. Sept. 23 at TPC at River's Bend in Maineville, a 72-par course designed by Arnold Palmer.
The tournament will be followed by an auction. Participants may register before Sept. 17 at 404-256-7152.
ACT also urges support of the Boys and Girls Clubs by buying a $1 Make-A-Difference pinup in all Greater Cincinnati Arby's through Sept. 23.

The ACT bus will be traveling through Cincinnati from Sept. 20-25. It provides a stage for activities.
Since 1996, ACT has raised $7.5 million for youth across the country.
The second annual Fall Walk to raise money for scholarships, hosted by the McAuley High School Alumnae, will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 29.
The 3-mile walk will follow a Mass in McAuley's newly renovated chapel, 6000 Oakwood Ave., College Hill.
Cost to participate in the walk is $15, which includes a T-shirt. Children may participate for $5, but will not get a T-shirt.
McAuley students and families, current or alumnae along with friends and supporters of McAuley are invited.
Deadline for registration is Sept. 21. For more information, call Kathy Dietrich, McAuley alumnae coordinator, at 681-1800 ext. 2272.
Holland Communications has been named a finalist as the 2002 Tristate Family Business of the Year for community service.
The award is presented by The Goering Center, the University of Cincinnati College of Business Administration and Fifth Third Bank.
The local advertising agency was honored in a ceremony Aug. 27 at Music Hall.
The event honors family firms in the Tristate that represent the true meaning of being a family business.
Holland contributes to many organizations such as Starshine Hospice of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Heritage Village Museum, FreeStore/FoodBank, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and United Way.
