BLUE ASH - Ach du lieber! City Manager Marvin Thompson is boasting about an exchange of business ideas between this Hamilton County city and its sister city, Ilmenau, Germany.
The 22-member German delegation of city officials and business representatives left Wednesdayafter a week's worth of presentations, social excursions and tours through some of Blue Ash's high-tech business gems.
They included LSI Industries Inc., a lighting and graphics manufacturer; Metalex, a high-tech machinery manufacturer; and Time Warner Cable.
It seemed to be a success, Mr. Thompson said. If we can put together slowly a list of contacts and vice versa, it will develop into some potential markets.
The next exchange will happen in November when a small Blue Ash delegation will visit Ilmenau. The city's mayor, Gerd-Michael Seeber, has requested the presence as the city recognizes Ilmenau Jews who died in the Holocaust. During last week's visit, Blue Ash officials also made tentative promises to visit in June.
