Louisville guard undergoes surgery for injury
The Associated Press
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Louisville junior guard Prileu Davis underwent surgery Thursday to repair a fractured left eye orbit.
Davis was hit by another player's elbow just above his left eye during individual instruction drill Tuesday morning, the school said. Dr. Dale Roberts, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, performed the operation at Jewish Hospital.
Davis, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound junior college transfer from Pheonix College, is expected to participate in light workouts within two weeks and return to full competition in four weeks, the school said. Practice begins Oct. 12.
Davis averaged 22.9 points, 5.3 assists and 3.2 steals as a sophomore last season at Phoenix College. He shot 46 percent from the field, including 41 percent from 3-point range, and 82 percent at the free-throw line.
