UK freshman class biggest in its history
Enrollment is up 5 percent from last year to 34,182 students, the school said in a statement. The freshman class of 3,722 students is 18 percent larger.
Acting Provost Michael Nietzel attributed much of the jump in undergraduate enrollment to scholarships for all students in the Governor's Scholars and Governor's School for the Arts programs, as well as implementation of a program that allows children of UK alumni living out of state to attend at the in-state rate.
