Going Out

        Memorial Concert: The “Stars of Liberty” Memorial Concert in Falmouth, Ky., fires up the patriotism with a new work by renowned composer Muriel Anderson commemorating victims of 9-11 and guest appearances by Ben Lacy, New Jerusalem Men's Choral Group, Liz Antony and more. 7 p.m. today, Griffin Centre, Pendleton County Fairgrounds. $8-$15.         Photo exhibit: The Suzanna Terrill Gallery opens the chilling new Kaddish — 09-11-01 with nine bold photographs of ground zero by acclaimed photographer Mark D. Kruger. Noon-9 p.m. today, 1315 Main St., Over-the-Rhine. 665-4500.

        Prayer service: Spiritual renewal is the order of the day at a special prayer service at the Athenaeum of Ohio entitled “The Prayer Before the Cross in Commemoration of the Tragic Events of Sept. 11.” 7:30 p.m. today, Chapel of St. Gregory the Great, 6616 Beechmont Ave., Mount Washington. 231-2223.

        Museum Center: The Cincinnati Museum Center opens its door with free admissions to all museums and a special exhibit honoring the victims and heroes of the Sept. 11 tragedies. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today. 287-7000.

        Art on display: The 9-11 inspired artwork by eight Cincinnati artists featured in Tempo on Sept. 1 is on display in the lobby of The Enquirer Building, 312 Elm St., downtown, through Friday. Lobby hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Staying In

        TV picks: Many TV channels observe the Sept. 11 anniversary with extended live coverage and specials today. A complete list appears on the TV page, but here are a few highlights: President Bush recalls his experiences a year ago for 60 Minutes II (8 p.m., Channels 12, 7); NBC airs a Concert for America (9 p.m., Channels 5, 22); and CBS repeats the 9/11 film shot inside the World Trade Center (9 p.m., Channels 12, 7).

The Goods

        CD picks: Jam band moe. (featuring local guitarist Chuck Garvey) has the three-disc Warts & All 2 (Fat Boy; $20.98).

        Singer/songwriter/activist/record label mogul Ani DiFranco delivers two live discs on So Much Shouting, So Much Laughter (Righteous Babe; $25.98).

Planning Ahead

        24 hours out: Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival offers a fresh twist on Romeo and Juliet by using an interracial cast and setting the show in modern urban America. Opens 8 p.m. Thursday, 719 Race St., downtown. $16-$22. 381-2273.

        48 hours out: The Weston Art Gallery opens its 2002-03 exhibition season with a new group show Beauty and the Beholder exploring themes of voyeurism and human nature and new video installations by artists Charles Woodman and Gagik Aroutiunian. 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aronoff Center. 977-4165.

        72 hours "til Saturday: Coney Island offers a vintage-style end-of-summer blowout “Cruise-a-Palooza” featuring classic cars, amusement park fun and oldies music. Noon-8 p.m., I-275 and Kellogg Avenue, Anderson Township. $5-$8.95. 232-8320.
