Cancer unit benefits from bag, T-shirt

By The Associated Press

NEW YORK - Longtime friends Marc Jacobs and Christy Turlington are now collaborators for a cause.

The fashion designer and the model are offering the Christy Bag, a limited-edition yoga carryall, with all proceeds going to CancerCare.

The cotton canvas bag's long, rectangular shape holds a yoga mat and there are leather pockets on each side for other accessories.

The bag also features Mr. Jacobs' signature nickel hardware.

Ms. Turlington is the president and creator of Puma's Nuala, a yoga-inspired sportswear and footwear collection.

The duo also teamed to design a limited-edition, long-sleeve T-shirt.

The shirt is white with the Marc Jacobs logo on black tape at the wrists and a red CancerCare logo on the upper left sleeve.

The $350 bag is available in red and dark “pepper” brown at Marc Jacobs stores and Neiman Marcus stores. It will also be available at some Nuala retailers.

The $25 T-shirt will be sold at the designer's boutiques, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.

CancerCare is a national social service agency dedicated to providing free, professional support services to people of all ages, with all types of cancer, at any stage of the disease.
