After more than 10,000 rock fans packed nightclubs on both sides of the Ohio River this weekend, organizers of the MidPoint Music Festival declared their inaugural event a complete success and began planning for 2003.
We thought we were in trouble Thursday with the rain, but people came out anyway, said Bill Donabedian, 34, co-founder of the event, which showcased 150 local, regional and national acts at a dozen area clubs.
Only a couple thousand people braved Isidore's rains Thursday for the first full night of MidPoint music. Good weather, however, drew crowds Friday and Saturday. The Cavern, 1120 Walnut St., reported 300 MidPointers by 10 p.m. Friday, three times its usual business.
