UC area boasts good, inexpensive eats
Campbell's scoop

Where to eat while attending the University of Cincinnati (or just going to a Bearcats game):
There is every brand of fast food available nearby when you get tired of dorm food or ramen noodles, but you don't have to settle for that. There are plenty of fun and not-so-expensive independent restaurants circling campus. Here's my subjective list of recommendations for new residents and visitors:
Pizza: As the basic fuel of your college years (solid fuel, anyway), you'll want to establish loyalty to good pizza early. The UC neighborhood has most of the best pizza restaurants in the city. North of campus is the new Dewey's Pizza on Hosea; south is Pomidori's, with its wonderful wood-fired oven and a full menu of pasta and salad as well. On Jefferson, you'll find Adriatico's , which delivers excellent fresh, slightly spicy pizza, and it's open until 2:30 a.m. on weekends.
Chinese: King Wok, on the corner of McMillan and Clifton, is good. Ask for the seafood menu if you're adventurous.
Burritos: Yes, there's a Chipotle, but be sure to try the Latin American variations at Habanero on Ludlow. (And it serves beer, sangria and margaritas.)
Breakfast: Inn the Wood on Calhoun has great eggs and bacon and home fries, no questions asked.
Coffeehouse: Try Sitwell's on Ludlow for that slightly seedy coffeehouse atmosphere.
All-around hangout, home away from home: Cody's Cafi-- fast computers, live music, coffee and cheap food.
Indian: My favorite is Ambar India on Ludlow, but Mayura on Jefferson is good, too.
When your parents are paying: They'll like Tink's Cafi at Telford and Ludlow; it's kind of Clifton-funky, but basically adult. Bistro 151 in the Marriott near the medical campus also would be suitable, in a more corporate way.
First date: Biagio's Bistro on Ludlow is cozy, not too expensive and serves cooked-to-order pasta.
Vegetarians: I like Myra's Dionysus on Calhoun for always having a selection of soups and classic vegetarian dishes of the world, such as gado-gado or beans and rice. (see also burritos and Indian)
Could become your favorite: Floyd's on Calhoun has wonderful lima beans with garlic and other Lebanese dishes in a homey atmosphere.
