A Sunday motorcycle ride raised more than $10,000 for the Warsaw, Ky., family of Carolyn Marksberry, who lost two children in an Aug. 23 knife attack at home that also left her critically injured.
Deanna Hartman, a Warsaw barbershop owner, organized the 66-mile ride in Gallatin County. More than 500 riders participated.
Proceeds from the ride registration fee, food sales, raffle, silent auction and donations totaled $10,056.
Marco Allen Chapman, who had dated Mrs. Marksberry's neighbor, has been charged in the attack.
A trust fund has been established for the family. Donations may be sent to Carolyn Marksberry Trust Fund, Integra Bank, P.O. Box 467, Warsaw, KY 41095.
