Driver escapes police after chase
By Jim Hannah
The Cincinnati Enquirer
COVINGTON Police are looking for the driver of a Ford Mustang who led police on a 24-minute chase through Kenton County Tuesday evening.
The pursuit started shortly after 6:30 p.m. on May Street in Covington's west side when a Covington Police officer tried to pull over the Mustang because its license plate was issued for a beige Chevrolet.
The driver was clocked going 80 mph through Covington's Latonia neighborhood before getting on Interstate 275.
The car led police through Erlanger, Crescent Springs, Fort Mitchell and Covington, getting off and back on Interstate I-71/75 near Buttermilk Pike.
Police stopped chasing the car as it sped down I-71/75 toward Cincinnati. Sgt. Teal Nally, spokesman for Covington Police, said police broke off out of safety concerns as the car headed toward rush-hour traffic.
