3 suspects charged in auto dealer burglary
FLORENCE - Following a short police pursuit early Sunday, three suspects were arrested in connection with the burglary of an auto dealership.
Michael Chieftain 18, of Madison Avenue in Covington, and two juveniles were charged with burglary, receiving stolen property over $300, and fleeing and evading, police said. Mr. Chieftain also was charged with two counts of unlawful transaction with a juvenile.
Police went to the 5 Star Auto car dealership at 1:26 a.m. Sunday after a witness reported a burglary in progress and a description of the suspect's vehicle. Officers saw the vehicle at Turfway
Road and Interstate 75, and gave chase.
The three-minute pursuit ended on northbound Interstate 75 after Stop Sticks deflated the tires on the suspects' vehicle, which had been stolen from the dealership Thursday, police said.
