The first wrecking ball comes down on Cinergy Field at 8 a.m. today as razing begins on the northeast portion of the plaza and parking deck.

        O'Rourke Wrecking Co. has already begun removing seats, lighting and signage within the stadium.

        The Cinergy Field garage closed Tuesday. A wrecking ball will start taking down the portion over Mehring Way Nov. 18, with the roadway remaining closed until Feb. 16.

        The demolition is needed to make room for the neighboring $280 million Great American Ballpark.
