3 men, woman plead guilty to assault

Three men and one woman pleaded guilty Monday to felonious assault charges in a January 2001 attack.

The four, Ronnell Geralds, Dana Kerson, Paul Solomon and Daniel Geralds Jr. pleaded guilty before Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Dennis Helmick.

They agreed to testify against a fifth man, Donnell Geralds, in the Jan. 31, 2001, kidnapping and attempted murder of Dana Humphries.

Prosecutors say the five participated in kidnapping Mr. Humphries from West McMicken Street. He was taken to an apartment and “interrogated.”

Mr. Humphries was believed to have stolen from one of the defendants. He was beaten repeatedly with fists and then bound and placed in a vehicle. “He was driven around for a period of time, removed from the vehicle to the highway and shot,” prosecutors said.

He was found in the area of Interstate 74 and Interstate 275.

Mr. Geralds is scheduled to go to trial today.
