Hunter kills son with crossbow

        ZANESVILLE - A deer hunter who fired his crossbow at something moving in an adjacent cornfield hit his 14-year-old son in the chest, killing him, the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office said.

        The accident happened about 7:30 p.m. Saturday as the two were hunting with crossbows near Adamsville, about 60 miles east of Columbus, Detective Lt. Steve Welker.

        Jason Foster of Lebanon was flown to Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital in

        Zanesville, where he was pronounced dead about 9:15 p.m. Saturday.

        Jason's father, Alan Foster of Middletown, has not been charged, the sheriff's office said Monday.
