GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida Gators quarterback Rex Grossman left practice early Monday to receive treatment for an unspecified injury.
Reporters are normally allowed to watch the final 30 minutes of Gators practice, but they were kept out of Monday night's session until the end of the workout. Grossman was gone by then.
Grossman, the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 2001, has thrown eight interceptions in Florida's losses to Mississippi and LSU the last two weeks and has 14 for the season.
Florida coach Ron Zook said he would consider benching Grossman for backup Ingle Martin.
MIAMI REDHAWKS: Sophomore quarterback Ben Roethlisberger earned Mid-American Conference East Division offensive player of the week honors after he set a league record with 41 pass completions (in 61 attempts) in MU's 48-41 loss to Northern Illinois.
