Two win awards

        Two freshmen were winners of Alumni Awards at Denison University: Noah Arenstein of Symmes Townshipand Daniel Matteucci of Newtown.

        Research program

        Philip Zigoris, a senior computer science major at the College of Engineering at Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., was one of a

        group that conducted scientific research as part of the California Institute of Technology's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program.

        The Indian Hill High School graduate is the son of Irene and Mark Zigoris of Kenwood.

        Airman graduates

        Air Force Airman Kristina Bodley graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She earned distinction as an honor graduate.

        The McAuley High School graduate is the daughter of Kim Harvey of Colerain Township.

        Named AP Scholars

        Students from Finneytown High School have been named AP Scholars by the College Board based on their performance on national college-level advanced-placement exams. Most of the nation's colleges and universities award credit, advanced placement, or both for grades of 3 or higher on a 5-point scale.

        Megan Brissie, Kyle Falhaber, Rosanne Gibson, Michael Hacker, Frederick Jenkins, Katherine Lampe, Nicole Landis, Amanda Norrish, Erin Norrish and Shannon Osterfeld qualified as AP Scholars by completing 3 or more exams with grades of 3 or higher.

        Dann Barrett, Lynette Gibson, Sarah Hensey, Molly Linder, Deana Mercado, Monica Papp, Caroline Roberts, Emily Schnur, Sweta Shah and Carolyn Wagner qualified as AP Scholars with Honor by earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams.

        Neeti Sasi qualified as an AP Scholar with Distinction by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
