Houston 5, Mighty Ducks 4
Erik Reitz scored at 2:21 of overtime to lift the Houston Aeros to a 5-4 win over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks on Saturday night in American Hockey League action at the Cincinnati Gardens.
Jean-Guy Trudel had a goal and three assists for the Aeros, who rallied from a two-goal, second-period deficit to extend their season-opening winning streak to four games. Kyle Wanvig chipped in with a goal and two assists.
Jonathan Hedstrom, Rob Valicevic, Jason York and Cam Severson scored for the Ducks, who are 3-2-0-1 all-time in home openers.
Jean-Francois Damphousse, a first-round pick by New Jersey in 1997, made 36 saves in the loss.
