Senior Day focus on information

Seniors Day will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Crestview Hills Mall in Crestview Hills, Ky.

Northern Kentucky's eighth annual Senior Expo, sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, expects to draw 2,000 seniors, friends and relatives.

"It is an information exchange session," said Michael Hurysz, director of human resources for the district. "What we do on this day is all free. We try to make it noncommercial. We tell vendors not to sell anything because it is all about doing something for seniors."

The expo will include exhibits, free flu shots, health screenings, giveaways and door prizes, Mr. Hurysz said.

"We will have the Pete Wagner Orchestra, Irish dancers and an Elvis impressionist," Mr. Hurysz said. "Anybody can come because everybody knows somebody over 60. This could be a chance to get information to share with a senior you know."
