The victims were identified as Jessica M. Carson, 16, of Maple Creek Drive, Springdale, and Cassandra Conrad, 17, of Turfwood Court, Sharonville.
They were dead at the scene.
Springdale Police Capt. Bill Hafer said they were in a 1994 Toyota Corolla that was eastbound on I-275 between Ohio 4 and the Kenn Road overpass when the car went out of control and crossed the median into the westbound lanes.
The Toyota collided with a 1994 Buick Regal operated by Richard Ortman, 34, of Brookville, Ind.
Mr. Ortman was taken to University Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The crash occurred about 4:30 p.m.
The investigation is continuing and had not determined Tuesday night which of the victims was driving the Toyota, Capt. Hafer said.
