HAMILTON - A Butler County jury on Tuesday began deliberations in the case of a Middletown man facing a possible fourth domestic violence conviction.

Victor B. Moore, 33, is accused of assaulting his wife, Alisha, 23, at the Middletown police station, then injuring an officer who tried to stop him from fleeing.
Mr. Moore faces seven charges in connection with that July 20 incident: felony domestic violence, felonious assault, failure to comply with an officer's order, assault on a police officer, grand theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and intimidation of a victim or witness in a criminal case.
The most serious charge against Mr. Moore is a first-degree felony alleging he caused serious physical harm to Middletown Police Sgt. Dan Magill. That charge carries a sentence of three to 10 years if Mr. Moore is convicted; Mr. Moore two months ago was sentenced to a four-year prison term for a previous Butler County domestic violence conviction.
In the July incident, a police report says Mr. Moore assaulted his wife in the lobby of the police station "in front of dispatchers and her friend," then attempted to pull Mrs. Moore from the station.
Sgt. Magill tried to arrest Mr. Moore, but Mr. Moore ran to a vehicle whose engine had been left running outside the police station. Then, as Sgt. Magill was attempting to pull Mr. Moore out of a vehicle, Mr. Moore allegedly accelerated the vehicle, dragging the officer 50 feet "at an excessive rate of speed," the report says.
Sgt. Magill suffered a broken arm and other injuries.
In September, Judge Michael J. Sage sentenced Mr. Moore to four years in prison for an April domestic violence incident. Mr. Moore had prior misdemeanor domestic violence convictions in 2000 and in 1998, court records show.
