Pamela Coburn Award given
Lindsay Deeter was the first Mariemont High School student to receive the newly established Pamela Coburn Award.
Ms. Coburn, a 1970 Mariemont graduate, is a renowned opera singer who has performed throughout the world.
An anonymous donor who saw Ms. Coburn perform at Cincinnati's May Festival established the award to honor her and do something for the Mariemont School District at the same time.
Ms. Deeter now attends the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
Graduates win scholarhips
The Greenhills/Forest Park Kiwanis Foundation selected these graduating seniors as its scholarship winners:
John Fricker of St. Xavier High School, who attends the University of Cincinnati and is majoring in industrial design.
Christy Nordquist of Winton Woods High School, a chemistry major at Miami University.
Jennifer Weber of Roger Bacon High School, who attends John Carrol University in Cleveland and is studying pediatric medicine.
