BOSTON - Glen Murray had a goal and an assist as the streaking Boston Bruins beat New York 4-1 Thursday night in a game in which the Islanders lost captain Michael Peca to a knee injury in his first meaningful action of the season.

Boston has won five of six, while the Islanders dropped their eighth in 10 games.

Peca played a regular shift in the first period in his return from a left-knee injury that caused him to miss all but 27 seconds of the Islanders' first 16 games this season.

He was forced out Thursday night in the second period after he sprained his right knee.

P.J. Axelsson, Joe Thornton, and Brian Rolston scored Boston's other goals. Brad Isbister prevented the Islanders from being shutout.

Mighty Ducks 3, Blue Jackets 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Steve Rucchin and Jason Krog scored in the final 2 minutes as Anaheim beat Columbus.

Columbus led 2-1 on Tyler Wright's jam shot with 8:46 remaining and appeared to be on its way to improving on its 6-1-0-1 record against the Ducks.

Geoff Sanderson tied a Columbus franchise record with a goal in his fifth consecutive game and Andrew Cassels, second in the NHL in assists, also tied a Blue Jackets record by running his assists streak to seven games.

Paul Kariya also scored for the Mighty Ducks.

Mike Sillinger's goal 31 seconds into the final period was disallowed because video replays showed he kicked the puck in.

Senators 3, Panthers 2, OT

OTTAWA - Todd White scored 3 minutes into overtime to lift Ottawa over Florida.

Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza scored power-play goals to give the Senators man-advantage tallies in 13 straight games.

Sandis Ozolinsh and Kristian Huselius scored for Florida, which tied its previous two games and hasn't lost in regulation in six (2-0-2-2).

Ottawa is 1-0-1 in overtime this season. The Panthers are 3-3-3.

Rangers 2, Flames 1

CALGARY, Alberta - Mikael Samuelsson scored the go-ahead goal, and Dan Blackburn made 35 saves as New York beat Calgary for its fourth win in five games.

Jarome Iginla opened the scoring for the Flames in the first period, but the Rangers capitalized on a pair of Calgary giveaways in the second period to take a 2-1 lead.

Petr Nedved tied it 1-1 at 4:09 of the second with a shorthanded goal.

Dan Blackburn, 19, made 35 saves for New York, which improved to 2-1 on its road trip that concludes Saturday in Vancouver.

The Flames began a five-game homestand with their fourth straight loss.

Canucks 3, Kings 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Markus Naslund scored a pair of power-play goals 34 seconds apart in the second period as Vancouver beat Los Angeles.

Trevor Letowski scored his fourth goal in five games for the Canucks, who only had one win in their first seven home games. Vancouver won for the second straight time at home and third consecutive overall.

Russian rookie Alexander Frolov, with his fifth goal, and Derek Armstrong scored for the Kings, who have one win and three points in six games.

Dan Cloutier, making his 11th straight start and 16th in 17 games, made 19 saves as Vancouver won for the fourth time in five games.

Wild 1, Penguins 1

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Richard Park scored his second goal of the season to lift Minnesota into a tie with Pittsburgh.

Minnesota remained unbeaten in six overtime games this season and ended its first two-game losing streak. The Wild's 23 points are tops in the Northwest Division.

Johan Hedberg, who gave up seven goals in his last two starts, stopped 30 Minnesota shots. Marc Bergevin scored for Pittsburgh, which hasn't won in four games.

Manny Fernandez, who lost three straight starts after a 6-0 start, made 23 saves for the Wild.

Avalanche 3, Predators 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Peter Forsberg had a goal and two assists to lead Colorado over Nashville.

The Avalanche struck first when Greg de Vries scored. Derek Morris took a pass from Forsberg and made it 2-0 in the first period.

Nashville cut the lead to 2-1 in the second period on Andreas Johansson's goal.

The Avalanche made it a two-goal game again 31 seconds later when Forsberg put in his own rebound.
