Kirsten Noakes converted a penalty kick six minutes into overtime to lift No. 1-ranked Northern Kentucky past Ashland 2-1 in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region championship Saturday at the Town & Country Sports Complex.

Ashland finished 15-2-2.

NKU (20-0-2) advanced to the Division II quarterfinals against either Nebraska-Omaha (20-0) or Truman State (16-2-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday at Town & Country Sports Complex.

The winner of that match will advance to the Final Four Dec. 6-8 at Virginia Beach, Va.

NKU is seeking its fourth consecutive trip to the Division II semifinals.
