FYI

Recovering: Pianist Andre Watts, 56, who underwent emergency surgery last Thursday night for cerebral bleeding, was still hospitalized but "his recovery is progressing nicely," Charles Cumella of Cramer/Marder Artists said Tuesday. Mr. Watts collapsed a half-hour before he was to perform with the Pacific Symphony at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, Calif. His neurosurgeon at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach told the Los Angeles Times, "For his specific skills, it will take time to know the impact of this event."

Matinee added: By popular demand, the Cincinnati Pops has added a Sunday matinee to its December holiday show in Music Hall, "Happy Holidays from the Pops." The new performance - 2 p.m. Dec. 15 - will be a kid-friendly length of 85 minutes, including intermission. The show includes Nick Clooney as narrator, tenor Kevin Anderson and stars of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music musical theater department. Adult tickets for the matinee are $12.75 to $35.25 and children (12 and under) are $12.

The show opens at 8 p.m. Dec. 13 and continues at 8 p.m. Dec. 14 and 7 p.m. Dec. 15. Information: 381-3300 or Web site.
