Two commissioned
Ryan Lathan and Christopher Palmer have been commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Air Force after completing the Air Force ROTC program and graduating with bachelor's degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Lt. Lathan, a graduate of Madeira High School, is the son of Virginia and John Lathan of Madeira.
Lt. Palmer, a graduate of Turpin High School, is the son of Kathy and David Palmer of Anderson Township.
Freshman on dean's list
Nursing major Rishae Wood was named to the dean's list both semesters of her freshman year at Gannon University in Erie, Pa. She was also inducted into Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
The Milford High School graduate is the daughter of Coletta and Randy Wood of Union Township, Clermont County.
Top player at Vanderbilt
Dee Davis, of Princeton High School, has accepted an athletic scholarship to play basketball at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., under Head Coach Melanie Balcomb, formerly of Xavier University.
Dee is the top-ranked point guard in the state of Ohio and a Street and Smith All-American. She earned All-League recognition her first three years, and was named to the Ohio Girls Basketball Magazine "Dream Team."
During the summer, she played point guard for the All Ohio Black AAU team that won the 17 and Under Ohio AAU Championship, the U.S. Junior National Championship, and the Nike Cup.
She is the daughter of Nadine Davis of Springdale.
Medical scholarships won
The Butler County Medical Society Foundation has awarded scholarships to these Butler County residents:
Robyn Gorman of Fairfield, a freshman at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Christopher Savage of Hamilton, a junior at Wright State University School of Medicine.
Shawn Trokhan of Hamilton, a sophomore at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland.
