LEXINGTON - Russell "Rusty" McIntire bragged about the killing of Delta Air Lines pilot Stephen Craven to cellmates at the Kenton County jail, according to the last two defense witnesses called in the murder trial of Adele Craven.
"I wish I could find the words to describe cold-blooded murder," said Francisco Solis during videotaped testimony. "He (Mr. McIntire) has no remorse. He said he would do it again."
Defense attorneys Deanna Dennison and Linda Smith called the witnesses to bolster their argument that Mr. McIntire acted alone in hiring a hit man to have Mr. Craven killed.
Mr. Craven was found beaten and shot to death in his Edgewood home on July 12, 2000. Mr. McIntire agreed to testify against Ms. Craven, his former lover, in exchange for life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years.
Former cellmate James Storm also testified that Mr. McIntire talked about getting a hit man.
